Dotta Go!

This is my niece Sarah's baby quilt. By the time she was born I was working on my book Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts, so every time I made a quilt I was thinking about how to incorporate a spiral into it so I'd have more material for the book. I had already made Fruit Salad Spinner and The Court Jester in 2005, and I wanted this one to look different from those. What's neat about this design is that it is actually an 8-sided spiral within a square spiral. As I was picking out fabrics, I realized that many of them had dots, and that's what inspired the name Dotta Go!
