Alison's Garden

I made Alison's Garden for my niece. It combines Grandma's vintage 9-patch with the "Love Knot" block in two slightly different proportions. The stripes became a really strong design element that makes the blocks appear to sometimes combine and sometimes overlap each other. The hand quilting is simple stitch-in-the-ditch: this is the way my grandma quilted the quilts she had made for me, and I hadn't yet discovered the world of decorative quilting!
